Disposable Cameras at Weddings

Disposable cameras have become a tradition recently at weddings, and are a great way to allow your friends and family to capture the enjoyment of your wedding day. With a few tips you can ensure that the photographs from the disposable cameras are a great addition to your wedding day memories.

• Disposable cameras are not a substitute for a professional photographer. A professional photographer will be using high quality photographic equipment and has the experience to use it fully. Disposable cameras typically have a plastic lens and small flash; neither of which will match photographs taken by professional equipment.
• If your friends can not find the disposable camera, they will not be able to use it. Make sure that you place the cameras in a spot that they are sure to be found.
• Several companies are now selling disposable cameras themed for weddings. Instead of the normal plain cardboard wrapper, they have wedding images on the outside.
• Do not expect 27 excellent photographs from every disposable camera. For that matter, do not expect every camera to have 27 photographs on it at the end of the night. Many will only be partially used. The cameras are there to allow your friends and family to capture themselves having fun at your wedding.
• Do not be disappointed when each camera is not totally full of photographs. Your friends and family are there to enjoy your wedding day. For some part of that fun is taking photographs for your memories, but not everyone will feel the same enjoyment taking photographs. But every picture taken adds to your memories.
• Many labs now offer the service of uploading your photographs to the internet when they process the film. This is a great way to share all the images with your friends and family; especially those that traveled to your wedding.
• If you want a step above disposable cameras, there are now companies that will rent digital cameras for your wedding day. They ship the cameras to you, you place them out at your wedding, and after your wedding you ship them back. The photographs are placed online where your friends and family can view them.
• Most importantly, the photographs you receive from disposable cameras will show your friends and family having fun at your wedding.
