A wedding at the Haak Winery When you first start planning your wedding your first thought on location may be the typical options of a church or reception hall. While these may be perfect choices, especially a church wedding depending on your beliefs, there are other options. One of the options you may want to consider is scheduling your wedding at a winery. There are several wineries around the Houston and Austin areas, and many more around Texas. Why would you want to have your wedding at a winery?
It’s unique – Every bride wants their wedding to be memorable. It is likely that most of your guests have not attended a winery wedding. It’s relaxing – No matter how well you plan your wedding day, it will be stressful. Wineries are naturally relaxing locations that will help to alleviate the stress. It’s beautiful – Grapevines make a great background for your wedding vows, as well as your wedding photographs. It’s outdoors – You will be able to spend several hours outdoors with your friends and family celebrating your wedding. And of course the wine – If you are a wine enthusiast you will have the opportunity to serve a local wine at your wedding that many of your guests have not tried before. It is also likely that the winery staff will be able to tell you the history of the wine and how it is made. Any downsides to a winery wedding?
It’s outdoors – Selecting an outdoor location for your wedding does make you partially dependent on the weather. Be sure to talk with the winery staff about options if the weather causes problems on your wedding day. Many will have either an indoor or covered location that can serve as a backup location.
